Training Opportunities
How to Manage Pests of Turf and Trees:
IPM for the Urban Landscape
March 18-19, 2010
Magnuson Grand Hotel City Center
Bozeman, MT
This day and a half workshop will cover insect, disease and weed pests in the landscape. Featured speaker is Dr. Whitney Cranshaw, author of ‘Insects and Diseases of Woody Plant’ and ‘Pests of the West’. Thursday will be a half day (12pm-5pm) of talks related to turf. Friday will be a full day devoted to woody ornamentals and IPM topics.
You will be able to earn four (4) recertification credits on Thursday and five (5) recertification credits on Friday for your Montana commercial and governmental applicator license in the following categories:
- Ornamental and Turf Pest Control
You will also be eligable for up to six (6) Urban IPM credits.

Another Great Training Opportunity
Ornamental & Turf Recertification Training
This training, offered by MDA, will take place in Billings 3/9, Bozeman 3/22, Great Falls 3/23 and Kalispel 3/25. Check the MDA Pesticide Applicator Training web site for information. Attend one location and receive four (4) Urban IPM credits.
Online Training Opportunities (max 6 with prior approval)
- February – April, 2010: IPM for Pests of Regional and National Importance: an online seminar series offered in collaboration with the Great Plains Diagnostic Network. Speakers and topics TBA (1 credit each/max 3 credits)
- MNLA Integrated Pest Management Certification Presentations: (1 credit each/max 4 credits)
