SMALL POULTRY FLOCKS

A SMALL FLOCK OF POULTRY CAN BE ENJOYABLE

CHICKENSA small flock of poultry can be a very rewarding animal ownership endeavor for the small acreage owner.  Years ago, every ranch and farm has a small flock of poultry that provided eggs, meat and entertainment.  In addition they ate an enormous number of insects from around a farmstead.  Chickens were the main species raised.

Before you head out to the local agricultural supply store, do your homework. Learn the requirements of a small poultry flock. Insure that you have the proper buildings to shelter the birds, the right feeding equipment and fences. This website has answers for your questions about a small flock of poultry.

Montana State Univeristy Extension does not have a faculty position for poultry. The links to listed on the right are from other University Extension Services.
