Record Books

Due Date:   September 21, 2017 

Club Organizational Leaders will check for completion and sign off on their 4-H Members' Record Books.  The Club's Checklist is due to the Extension office by September 21, 2017

Hill County 4-H Project Award

Upon the completion of the 4-H Members' Record Books, members are encouraged to apply for a County Award.  To be considered for an Award, the 4-H member needs to submit the following no later than September 26, 2017:

  • Complete Record Book (signed by 4-H member and 4-H leader)
  • A 4-H Story of the 4-H member's 4-H and Community Service activities for the past year; and
  • A completed Hill County 4-H Award Application.

Centennial Cattle Drive Award Applications

"Centennial Cattle Drive Application" Form

Any Hill County 4-H member enrolled in a livestock project - beef, sheep, swine, horse, dairy, goats, rabbits and poultry - are eligible to apply for the Centennial Cattle Drive Award.

Montana 4-H Leadership Forum

Date:   September 29-30 and October 1, 2017

Place:  Glendive, Montana

The 2017 Montana 4-H Leadership Forum will be held in Glendive, Montana, September 29th through October 1st.  On behalf of the District 4 planning committee we would like to invite all 4-H leaders, parents, and volunteers to attend.  There are tours available, beginning Friday afternoon.  Friday evening there will be a pitchfork fondue and S'mores Bar social.  We have a variety of workshops available on Saturday.  Saturday night our keynote speaker, Pat McVay was a pioneer of the hunter education program and started the Flathead 4-H Shooting Sports program in 1984.  In 2016 Pat was inducted into the Montana Outdoor Hall of Fame and was the first ever inductee to the Montana 4-H Shooting Sports Hall of Fame.

Montana 4-H Shooting Sports Leaders Training   

in conjunction with 4-H Leaders Forum September 29 thru 30, 2017 in Glendive, Montana

A State 4-H Shooting Sports Training will be offered during State Leaders Forum in Glendive.  Training will take place Friday beginning at 6:00 p.m .and continue through all day Saturday.  Registration forms and Pre-test Quizzes are available at the Extension office.


2017-2018 4-H Year Enrollment

Enrollment will take place from October 1st thru November 15th.

Re-enrolling Leaders and Members are encouraged to complete your registration at  Enrollment forms will not be printed for re-enrolling 4-H folks this year.  Enrollment forms can be found to the right under the "Enrollment" tab.

Alberta Leaders Conference

The Alberta 4-H Leaders Conference is an outstanding opportunity for up to eight Montana 4-H adult volunteers to learn more about the 4-H program in Alberta and across Canada. The conference gives leaders the opportunity to improve their leadership skills and exchange ideas. At the conference, Montana leaders absorb new ideas and experiences that can be shared with their clubs back home while they also enjoy an educational, action packed program.                           

January 19-21, 2018 in Edmonton, Alberta

Who can apply?
Applicants must be a leader enrolled in a Montana county during the prior 4-H year.

Priority consideration will be given to applicants:
        - who have not previously attended.
        - from counties who have not sent delegates in the previous two years.
        - who have served as leaders for 3 or more years (including current year).
Remaining delegate positions will be selected based on information provide in the application.

Application Process
The application for participation in the Alberta Leaders Conference is below. Application forms are due to the Montana 4-H Center for Youth Development by October 16, 2017, (in the Center - not a postmark deadline). Applications will be reviewed and individuals will be notified in late October or early November.

Meals, lodging and registration for the Alberta Leaders’ Conference will be paid for by the Canadian sponsors. Part of the delegate travel expenses are paid for by the Montana 4-H Council. Delegates will be responsible for some travel expenses to the Conference.
