Welcome to MSU Extension's Community Development Program

The Montana State University Extension Community Development (CD) Program provides educational and research-based resources to strengthen the social, economic and environmental well-being of communities across the state. Our Extension Specialists and Agents work to address community development issues identified by the people of Montana in their home communities.

Specifically, the MSU Extension Community Development Program involves many areas including community strategic visioning, local governance, leadership development training, community tourism assessment and development, economic and business development, business retention and expansion projects, community profiling, conflict management and resolution, economic impact assessments, planning facilitation, and community surveys.

We provide research, technical assistance and trainings and workshops on various community development topics. Please contact us with your inquiries or suggestions regarding development issues in your community. We look forward to serving you and making community development more relevant and viable for all Montanans.

Subscribe to the MSU Extension Community Development List Serve!
