Financial Records Organization: Preparing for Emergencies & Disasters
University of Idaho Extension
Life’s emergencies require advance preparation and planning. The first step is organizing your financial information and then keeping it up-to-date. Are your financial documents currently available to “grab and go” in case of an emergency or evacuation? Have you
shared your wishes in the event of your death? Your spouse and adult children—and any others who would need to handle your financial affairs—should know the location of all papers, contracts, documents, policies, and other needed information. Each should
also know to whom to turn for advice in case of emergency. This webinar will provide you with a tool to help you organize your personal and financial information, identify your advisors, and give the locations of important documents as well as advice for safeguarding this information. After this webinar, you will be able to take action now to avoid problems later.
