Fair Registration for the 4-H Department is open to any youth who is properly enrolled in 4-H or FFA.  These youth have the option to exhibit items/animals in any of the projects they were enrolled in through 4hOnline by May 1st of the current project year.

You can register for fair one of two ways: through FairEntry (online) or using the "Fair Registration Form" that was sent out in your fair packet.  Use the following links to access the Help Sheets for Registration

  • Fair Registration Help Sheet
  • Cloverbud Registration Help Sheet

Use the links on the sidebar to access several How-To videos about registering for fair.

Fair Registration closes June 1st.  LATE registration will be allowed from June 2nd until 5 PM on June 8th.  All late entries must be made through the Extension office and there will be a late fee of $5 per project.

Fees:

  • All members will be assessed a $5 Building Improvement Fee
  • Animals:
    • $20 Cleaning Deposit per barn that they will have livestock in.  This deposit will be refunded if/when the exhibitor cleans the pen/stall/cage to the satisfaction of the barn superintendent at the end of the fair.
    • $10 Processing Fee for each market animal
    • $5 Radio Ad Fee per member (market animal projects ONLY)

Each exhibitor can register/enter up to 10 exhibits per project. Be sure to register for the maximum number of entries you think you might bring to fair.  Only exhibits that were registered by June 8th can be entered in the fair.  You can "drop" entries at any time.

All projects have the option of taking “Any Other,” regardless if it’s listed in the Premium Book.  This simply is any item not already listed.  As long as you don’t go over your 10 allotted exhibits per project and/or they aren’t like any other item you have entered, you can take more than one “any other” item.

All animal projects have a Showmanship class (judging the YOUTH) and animal classes (judging the ANIMAL).  Showmanship classes are based on the ages of the youth as of October 1st of the current 4-H year.  Junior Showman are those who are 8-13 and Senior Showman are those who are 14-18.

In the non-market animal projects, you can take multiple animals (only one per class).  So, for example, in your Beef Breeding project you might take your yearling heifer, a cow/calf pair, and a bull calf (4 animals), but you can’t take two yearling heifers (same class).  If you are only in Beef Breeding, you would choose one of these 4 animals for Showmanship.  In market animals there is only a Market Class and then a Feeder class for those that don’t make weight.  If you are only in the market class of a species, you will take your market animal for Showmanship.  If you are in BOTH the Market and the Breeding class in a species, then you get to choose which animal you will take for Showmanship.
